HELP, Japanese input needed for Lotus 5.0.8

How can you setup Lotus Notes to allow my Manager to type Japanese to his boss in Japan?

What operating system are you using? I work at a Korean company, and we have the standard XP setup slightly modified with the Asian characters installed. This is a basic part of the OS, and incurs no additional cost. If you would like to hear more about this possible solution, please respond, and I will go into further detail.

The layer of input is usually dependent on the operating system, and the typical Input Method Editors that are used in Windows 95,98, and ME are not adequate. Let me know if I am going in the right direction with my answer, and I'd be happy to let you know more.
