With the Linksys defaulting to 192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0 and my webcam using 192.168.0.20, do I have to change my IP address of the linksys to 192.168.0.1?

I tried to change linksys to 192.168.0.1 and I was unable to connect back to the linksys after I clicked Save, so I had to reset to get 192.168.1.1 back.

I tried to add a route under Advanced Routing ( using a WRT54GL with 4.30.5 firmware ) but I keep getting Invalid IP.

Personally, I'd be more inclined to change the IP address of the webcam, but changing the router IP address should work as well. The reason that you couldn't connect after changing the router's IP address is becasue once changed, your computer will no longer be in the same network as the router. The simple solution is to reboot the pc and then connect to the router's new IP address. Manually releasing & renewing the IP address on the computer should also work.

That's the crazy thing...without being on that segment, I can't get to the webcam. Am I missing something on how to connect to webcam without changing Linksys?

In the meantime, I'll try a IP address change and release/renew.

I agree, however, I would prefer to leave Linksys on the 1.1, but I don't know how to connect to webcam without changing first.

Thanks.

There must be some way to configure the webcam, but without knowing what it is, an infinite number of guesses would be required [bigsmile]

I ended up placing my router at 192.168.0.10, then I was able to talk to the camera. So I configured camera as 192.168.1.20, then set router back to 192.168.1.1 ( default ) and I was able to talk to camera.

Man that sounds like a hastle to me. But at least you got it working.
