Help importing users/creating home folders

I do not have any previous experience importing new users in Novell, so I need a DETAILED solution. I am needing to import a few hundred users into NDS while at the same time creating a home directory for each and assigning rights. I was able to figure out how to use UIMPORT to do all of this, but then noticed that it is limited to 8 character names (not an option). Also, I am NOT looking for a 3rd party solution, so please do not suggest anything that will cost money. Documentation on any Novell utilities is virtually non-existent. I am using NW6.5 SP2, eDir 8.7.3.2. Thanks in Advance.
