I have a client with Corel Draw 7 on their computer and they want me to send them files that they can load and print from Corel Draw to their non post-script printer.

I am working in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Corel Draw indicates that it can open Adobe AI files as well as EPS and PDF files. However it actually doesn't seem to open any of these.

When I try to open or import a EPS file I only get a very low resolution proxy. It won’t open the PDF files at all.

The weirdest is what it does with Adobe Illustrator Files.

It goes through the opening process and when it finishes there is a jumble of images completely unrelated to what I was trying to open.

Any one have any ideas how I can open these jobs in Corel.

Here's what works for me:

Open Adobe Illustrator, and export, or save or file as an eps or ai file. When saving the file try, instead of saving to the version of the program you are using, save it a few versions lower.

EG: if you are using illustrator 8, and you need to be able to open it in corel 8, then when saving the illustrator file, save it as an Illustrator 5 or 6 version.

Always go down a few versions when saving from one program to another. The reason why you were getting that jumble when opening it up in corel was because versions from one program to another do not always keep up with each other in certain tools. Try that and see if that works. Hope it does.

Thanks I'll give that a try, I never thought of that.

You are right that my Indesign and Adobe Illustrator are much later then their Corel Draw.
