We have been having a problem with one PC and now two laptops at the same office. The problem has the following symptoms. The browser “Internet Explorer” will not go to a URL that is typed into the address window. But it will load sites from “History”. Also the most troubling is that there is no way to “save as” any document. When presented with the option to save anything and choosing a location the machine becomes unresponsive. It’s like it’s looking for a remote drive or something. I have run Nortons as well as some other virus scanners which have found nothing. I have also run a couple spyware removal programs but nothing unusual is found. I reformatted the first computer but now I really need to find a solution that is less destructive. Can anyone help?.
