I have a system with a dual boot, Windows 2000 and 98. When I select to use the Windows 98 system, the display is blank. When I use the Windows 2000, everything works fine.
So the monitor is good.
Thw windows 98 was working fine until I tried to install the latest software for my video card from ATI. It told me to install DirectX 8.0, and I did that, during the installation of the latest ATI software, I received a message it did not install, "To change the display adapter to the Standard VGA" I tried to use a standard on the display adapter, I was told to restart and when I did my screen is now blank. I would like to use my windows 98, how can I get the display to show anything?

Hit F8 when starting w98 go to safe mode and change the drivers. If you cant get into safe mode that way boot with a startup disk for w98.
