Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated:

Is there a way for a Word 2000 user to find out if a document was generated
with Word 2003? Looking under Tools > Compatibility does not work for Word
2000 users so any other hints or tips would be gratefully appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, should have mentioned, OS is Windows 2000 and/or Windows XP

TIA!

From explorer, right-click and select properties.

In XP, select the Summary tab, and click the "advanced>>" button.

The version is shown.

Don't have access to 2000, but I believe it is similar.

Thanks Mintjulep.

I am concerned though, because a Word 2000 document shows "Microsoft Word 9," while a 2003 document just says "Microsoft Office Word" (instead of MS Word 11 - which I thought it would). Any ideas why it doesn't appear to show the version info for an Office 2003 doc?

Thanks again for your response!
