Dear all, if anyone can help me?

Hi, I insist on using some free database and recently I 've chosen Borland
Interbase (open source version, that mean no more supports from Borland) .
But what frustrate me is the following message when I attempt to set
UPDATABLE, SCROLLABLE ( My interclient extracted from file
IC2001winJRE12.exe with the interclient.jar replaced with a newer one of 344
KB).

-======================================================
[interclient] Unsupported feature: Using a JDBC 2 method which is not yet
supported.
See API reference for exception
interbase.interclient.DriverNotCapableException
=======================================================

First, if anyone using firebird can survive through when setting cursor
UPDATABLE, SCROLLABLE.
Second, is it that there are some lines of code can do the same operation
and can avoid setting cursor UPDATABLE, SCROLLABLE.
Third, if anyone can convince me that FireBird not better than Bordland's
interbase.

Urgent help
Thousands thanks......
Judy
