I can access web pages on my Mac, but not execute CGI's. I was under the impression that one could put a CGI, such as e.g. the standard hello.pl one, into the folder /Library/Webserver/CGI-Executables, and then, assuming that u.v.y.z was the URL of one's computer, invoke that CGI by employing But when I tried this, I got a message stating that I do not have permission to access /cgi-bin/hello.pl on this server. I tried navigating to the CGI-Executables folder using Terminal, and then employing sudo chmod 755 hello.pl. But this didn't make any difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also checked the permission of the containing folders ?

Do you have this ( or similar ) line in you configuration file ?
Code:
[url=http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_alias.html#scriptalias]ScriptAlias[/url] /cgi-bin/ /Library/Webserver/CGI-Executables
Have you read Apache Tutorial: Dynamic Content with CGI ?

Sorry for the question, I not know Mac but that path looks abit strange for me. Are you sure you are using Apache web server ?

Feherke.
