no fan, chime, hd spin, nothing! i found the reset button which renders only a blink when pressed.
it was plugged in, batt monitor jumped from 100 to 70, I un/replugged it, showed plugged in status for 5 secs, jumped to 0 & kaput.

HELP!

Try removing the battery pack and then powering it with only the charger and see it it boots up. If it does, then I would say the battery pack is defective and you need to replace it.

Hope this helps!

thx. i've let it chrge w/o batt for 24 hrs. still, lifeless. anything else I should consider?

If the computer won't bootup with only the power unit connected, then there is either a problem with the computer or the power unit is defective.

You could take it to an Apple store Genius Bar and have them look at it.
