Ok so I've searched and searched... I need your help.

I'm setting up an 'after hours' oncall vector.
If you call the helpdesk after hours or on weekends, you get an announcement that says press 1 for networking, press 2 for.... etc.

All of that works great, but....

Sometimes people leave messages with the Helpdesk after hours, for non-emergencies. I've tried to message split to the vm hunt group, but the helpdesk extension is on another switch. Obviously I cannot enter the UDP extension in the message split extension box. So I'm at a loss how to have "Press 4 to leave the HD a message" and send it straight to the HD UDP extension's voicemail...

Anyone have some advice for me ;)

Thank you!

I would create a VDN and Vector on the local switch that has the vector step
Messaging split xx for extension xxxx

Then, when you want to go to that voicemail box but are on a different switch, you would route it to the VDN that you created on the local switch.

Or, if that mailbox has an exported station associated with you, you could just do a "route-to number xxxx with cov y" from the remote switch.
