Hi folks,
I am newbie here, could someone help me with my problem ?
whenever backup job finished (success), database engine always stopped automatically.
This started happen after I restarted my backup server (hardware problem reason).
Then I always turn it on whenever I want to start backup.

Isn't it rather strange ?
Thanks for all your help.

It is a guess that you are talking about the ARCserve Database Engine and not the engine from a server being backed up. There have been a lot of threads on DB corruption as well as a # of FAQ docs, so I will just throw out some quick suggestions. Check for database corruption. With no jobs running make sure the ARCserve temp directory is blank. Stop the Database Engine, close the Manager and then delete the ARCserve\Database\r*.* files, then restart. Initialize the database.

Thanks davidmichel you are always helpful as I know.
You're right it is database engine, and I think the problem was my BAB database failed to update, after I had followed your tips, also from other's thread, now my database can be updated.
But, I think I forgot to turn all BAB engine off before doing dbcheck, dbfix, and keybuild. Is it any impact for it ?
Thanks a lot and sorry for my english.

no problem, DB Engine has to be running for the utilities and other engines are unaffected by them.
