I am not a Windoze person (UNIX/LINUX). I have created a 'shortcut' in a valid directory but can not get apache to traverse it, even though the .htconf file is configured correctly with FollowSymLinks.

Help, what am I doing wrong?

Bryan

If you created the link as root, did you chmod to the correct permissions?

Unfortunately this is on a Windoze XP Home OS. There is no chmod, nor are there the same permission management as in XP Professional (again I am not a Windoze expert).

A Win32 shortcut is not the same as a symbolic link. Shortcuts are only meaningful to the GUI.

As far as I know, FollowSymLinks doesn't really mean anything on Win32.

I suggest you try using the Alias configuration directive instead. ______________________________________________________________________
