We are backing up and exchnage job using Arc2000 and we are getting an error message listed as
E8602 FAILED TO READ DATABASE (69) "READ/WRITE ERROR IN NAMED PIPES.

This error is only generating on the Information store database. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks

On your target server, the exchange one, check to ensure that the Backup RPC service is running. Sometimes an Anti Virus software or other service stops it briefly. Additionally, ensure your client ID has the backup operator priviliges and that in Exchange you've given it all the privileges needed.

You only gave part of the error message, the portion following, with the EC code is the key part here...more when you post that part.

Here is the complete error
E8602 FAILED TO READ DATABASE. (DBName=Information Store, EC=BackupAgent Error) (69) "READ/WRITE ERROR IN NAMED PIPES.

Checked the service, and it is running and permissions are correct....

When backing up Exchange, you have 2 security's to enter, one for the DBExchg, and one for DBExchg2. I always use EXSERVICE for the first one, and the arcserve client agent id for the other. I take it it's not the Brick layer that's bombing?

Also, I've found that if it's a remote system, don't just enter the ID, use the format <domain>\<id> for your security.
