This topic has been covered before but with NO definitive solutiont!
We have some apps that feed data to the users' browswers. All worked well for years. But, since the appearance of XP it hasn't been working. Previously when executed the browser would pop up a file dialog box with the directory and filename we supplied pre-loaded. The user only need click on OK/Save to proceed.
Since XP either the dialog box does NOT appears with XP saving the file in some obscure directory the user cannot find OR if the dialog box does appear the directory is obscure AND the pre-loaded filename is the name of our application program.
We are using the Content-type: application/x-qif; and Content-dispositin: attachement; filename=c:\foo.bar headers.
Have any HTML GURU's been able to override this yet? If so, please suggestion your solution.
Thanks.
