is it possible to display java code in frontpage?

I edited html code a few months ago and i thought i used frontpage to add in the java code. However, now when i try to view the html while in frontpage -- the java code doesn't display.

I know the java code is still there because i can take the exact same html file and display it in notepad and magically the java code shows up.

i've looked through the frontpage help and can't find a way to "view" or "turn on" the display of java--

can someone help???

thanks!!!

Hey there,

From first hand experience, I know that when you use internet explorer 6 with windows xp that the browser users install on demand, simple, when the browser detects it needs it, it will contact the proper site for downloading. However, that doesn't appear the case in your situation. So what you can do is go to:

I wish you the best

Do you mean Javascript , or do you mean Java ?

All you see for a Java applet is a little symbol or else the <applet> tag and related sheepdip (in the code view).

I think i mean javascript... A sample of the code is below: I can cut this from viewing the html file in notepad. However, when i view the same file in frontpage (using the html view) it doesn't show me any of this code... I was thinking there must be some way to view it while in frontpage...

<!--webbot BOT=&quot;GeneratedScript&quot; PREVIEW=&quot; &quot; startspan --><script Language=&quot;JavaScript&quot;><!--
function FrontPage_Form1_Validator(theForm)
{

if (theForm.first_name.value == &quot;&quot;)
{
alert(&quot;Please enter a value for the \&quot;first_name\&quot; field.&quot;);
theForm.first_name.focus();
return (false);

That's a BOT program in FP that writes the SCRIPT for you, it can't be seen becuase it is not generated until you save your work. It is also parsed when you open the file in FP, to be able to see it you need to open the file in notepad and remove <!--webbot BOT ...etc.--> Now when you open it in FP again the script code should be there, but FP will not be able to automatically write/alter the script for you without that webbot statement. FP did not really wish for you to alter it's generated script, so only remove it's statements if you know how to work with javascript.
