Help Deleted Files

I have inadvertantly deleted the wrong file, is it possible to "undelete" as in Windows NT.

Unfortunately not.

The file will still be on the disk, but the inode or pointer to the file will have been deleted.

i think there are software packages which could possibly recover your file (assuming the disc area has not been overwritten) but no standard unix command will do it.
