I have a NT 4.0 SP6 with Metaframe 1.8 SP3 server. I have policies set up for my local clients so they cannot access the printer settings. I would like to change, or set the default printer for these clients. I figured I could do this using regedt32 and loading each clients user.dat file into a registry hive to update it.
The problem I'm confronted with is I have not idea which setting is for the default printer in HKEY_CURRENT_USER. I'm assuming since each client, (or user), has a setting for this due to the fact that each users default printer can be different.
I may be way off base here. Consequently, any help would be appreciated to resolve this issue. Note, that even if I give a user adminitrative rights I cannot access the printer setting with the current policy. I must do it from an administrator with an open policy, via regedt32 as mentioned above.
