Please help me with this tough problem.
I use Access frontend Form with linked table to SQL server.
Problem that Access will display text field with field size set to length of data in each field. it will not use the default field length of SQL table.
To edit/append more data to each field on Access form, I need to press 'INTSERT key' when enter each field, then Access will let me type, and the aize of the field can be extended.
Any suggestion for this problem is highly appreciated. I try not to type INSERT key for each field since it would be not very user-friendly for normal users.
Many thanks in advance.

I need to know the datatype of your field. I guess it is char datatype. If you use char data but want to enter variable length data the remaining space is filled by space. So if u sure ur data will be variable char then u should use varchar.
My assumption may be wrong. In that case excuse me.
