I cannot open an Access Database. The program tells me that the database "needs to be repaired or isn't a database"
I go to repair it in Access but Access tells me it cannot be repaired or isn't a database! I really need this db.
I've even tried to import the info into another database but couldn't!

Does anyone know whats going on or how to open/repair it?
Or is this Access DB dead in the water?

What version? Access 97 had a service pack with an updated repair utility, if you don't have the sp you might try getting it and running the repair again. Otherwise, you could try (but I'm not sure if this ever works) importing from that mdb, but I assume you'd get the same error message. If that fails, you, like many before you including me, will now be a vocal proponent of backing up the database on a regular basis ;-)
Are you sure that the file is an Access Database created with the same version of Access that you are using?

For example an Access 2000 database cannot be opened with Access 97 (even though the name of the file still ends with .MDB).
Jim Conrad
jconrad3@visteon.com
