Insert the various form fields into your document. You can double-click a field after you insert it to view its properties. You can change the name of the field to, for instance, CoName for the "company name". Later, in your document, hit Insert-Cross reference and choose CoName. When you type the company name into the original field, it will fill this cross-ref in automatically when you update your fields.

Anyway, before you can "fill in" these form fields, you need to protect the document. Use the padlock on the Forms toolbar during form creation and to test the form, but when you're done, use Tools-Protection menus to properly protect it.

Let me know if I've totally confused you or if I can help further.

Hi Rae, you can set your Word document up as a form, and insert form fields. In order for the form fields to be activated so that you can tab from field to field, you lock the form (document) once you have it set the way you want. If you would like to make changes, you simply unlock it, make the changes and then lock it again to enable tabbing from field to field. If you have not created a form before, look in the Help Index under form_field. You won't have to alter your document, you'll simply insert a form field where you need the information.

A couple of other methods:

1. Insert a field (Ctrl F9) at each location where text is to be entered. Then you can use the F11 key to jump between fields in the document. You could even use a field like { Symbol 149 } that would put a bullet type character at each location.

2. Use ASK fields.
