help creating a logo

Hi, Guys. Have a logo

Just need it smartening up a bit....need to change the colors, need the sun orange and then fading into a red colour. I presume a gradient will cover that......are there any tutorials that can help me achieve the sun effect etc.

Hey,

That sun like effect is call a lens flare (Le fromage ) Photoshop has its own built in lens flare filter in (Filter>Render>Lens Flare) though you dont have much settings with it and wont get the exact look of what you have there. Kai's Power Tools 6 or now Corel KPT 6 filters for Photoshop have a Lens Flare filter which lets you control all aspects like Colour, Rings, Brightness, Halos, Reflections, Lines.. ect.

So if you want the easy way that would be it and it was most likely the way the original one was made.

Making it the dirty way is possible using feathers..
