I would like some help setting up replication subscribers(MS-SQLServer7).
Does anyone know any good articles that describes this matter or have any useful tips/own experience?
What I would like to know more about is:
- Difference between oleDB, odbc , sql subscriber
- What nt rights are needed at the subscriber
- What sql rights are needed at the subsciber.
I've previously read that with the Subscriber connection dbo permissions are not required but recommended.
The last test I made resulted in the following problems when the connection to the subscriber didn't have dbo rights:
Last action: "Only members of the sysadmin or db_owner roles can perform this operation."
Last command: exec sp_MSreplcheck_subscribe
I also got problems like:
Last action: "SELECT permission denied on object 'MSreplication_subscriptions', database 'mydb', owner 'dbo'."
When allowing the publication dbo rights all worked fine

I've serched the internet for info about sp_MSreplcheck_subscribe and connection to subscribers but found very little of interest.
