Hi everyone!

I have been a singed a project to configure 2 switches. I'm kind of new at this so I was wondering if anyone can help me out where to begin.

The project consists in configuring 2 vlans, one for voice and the other one for data.

The switches that we are using are:
WS-C3560-48PS
WS-C3560-24PS

This switches are connected by fiber using a GLC-SX-MM in each switch.

There are a number of factors that determine where you need to start. Did they tell you any specifics subnets that they would like assigned to these vlans? are you integrating these 2 switches into an existing network or are you replacing existing equipment with the cisco equipment? thats a good starting point

Thank you for the response I have asked already for the subnets that each vlans will have.

There is a network right know, but there is new cabling in process, and the 48 port switch is for the main site and the 24 port switch is for a remote site which has the new cabling.

On the network there are no vlans right now so the project concerns on configuring the switches so that they ca see each other and implement vlans.

I'm not sure this is what you want then, if you are going to have 2 different locations (connected via a VPN over the internet?), you'd want 2 routers to connect the 2 locations, or maybe 2 firewalls depending on the situation. We'd need more information about the network setup at each location to help.
