One of my users with a Sun box wants to combine two empty partitions into one partition. Wouldn't I just delete the two partitions using fdisk, save the partition table, and then create a new partition the same size as the two combined? Am I on the right track or is there a better way?
Much thanks, in advance!

This is for Solaris on Sparc, sorry for any confusion.

You can use disksuit to create a concatination with the two partitians.
This will make them into one logical drive.
See docs.sun.com for all the info on disksuit. Disksuit comes with most versions of solaris.

Thanks mikeclark! Would disksuit come with Solaris 2.6? If so, which CD is it on? If not, can I download it from Sun? Thanks a bunch!

For Solaris 2.6 Disksuite is in "Solaris Server Intranet Extension 1.0", if the two partitions are contiguous you don't need to use Disksuite, just expand the filesystem with mkfs.
