Hi,

Here's the problem. I have an instance of SQL Server 2005 running version 9.00.3068. I need to apply SP2 cumulative update 4 (version 9.00.3200). However, when I attempt to install it, all the checkboxes are effectively greyed out.

I had this problem in the past. The "fix" was to apply an intermediate SP2 update to bring to a version that could then be updated to 9.00.3200.

However, the next version up from 9.00.3068 is version 9.00.3152. But it won't let me apply this update either! I am having the same greyed out box issue during the install.

HELP

Thanks

A curious thing - Microsoft doens't even list 9.00.3068 on their list of builds! Why?

It goes from 3054 to 3152. Does anyone know why 3068 is missing? Has it been superseded by 3054? Does this mean I should apply 3054 to 3068 even though this would not seem logical?

Confused...

Build 3068 was ONLY offered via PSS. So, it wasn't available unless you called for support and had that issue.

Here is the site I use to check builds:

3200 is also a PSS only version. Did you get it via Microsoft? If so, contact them about applying it.

By the way, here is what the site I ref'ed says about 3200:

2005 SP2+Q941450 (Cumulative HF4, avail. via PSS only - must supply KBID of issue to resolve in your request)

So, either you got it via Microsoft and they should help with installation issues or you got it from somewhere else and in that case I would NOT install it.

Thanks for the info.

I was emailed the link to the 9.00.3200 download via Microsoft. You can still get it, actually.

But seeing that it doesn't work for me, what do you all suggest I update my version to???

We are having issues with a prior build and need to update our version, but I get nervous applying non-regression tested sp2 updates. I know 3200 is ok, because I've been running it on a test server since May.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

We have CU9 running on most of our machines. No problems as of yet.
