any time I try to add a new product I get

"A runtime error has occurred.
Do you wish to debug?

Line:787
error: Variable is undefined: 'prForm'
"

When I debug I get to the line where it fails
"CheckForceUpdate sAction, prForm"

I use commerce server 2002 with sp3

I have a development server and a production server - this error happens on production

on Development I get

"Technical Information (for support personnel)

Error Type:
Commerce.CatalogManager (0x8898005B)
The value you specified for the ProductID is blank or exceeds the maximum allowed length of 256 characters.

when trying to add a new product to a catalog

I've tried

- to restart IIS, that hasn't worked
- stop/start the list manager service

Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you have two different errors occurring. The first error "Variable is undefined: 'prForm'", make sure that you are declaring prForm before you use it. For the second error, try writing out the value of ProductID before the place it errors with a response.end after it, to make sure the value is actually being passed.
