Hi,

I have a Giga-byte GA-7N400 Pro (with the latest BIOS) and an AMD Athlon 2700 XP. The mother board has a FSB of 400/333. My CPU is an Athlon 2700 XP runs at FSB of 333. When I boot the bios only recognizes my cpu as a 1500. In addition when in win xp pro it is recognized as 1.29 Ghz.

I do not really want to overclock this I just want it to run at the speed its supposed to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have tried the following bios settings with no results:

_______________________

Default Bios Settings
--------------------------

Under "Advance Chipset Features"
FSB Frequency 166 MHZ
Memory Frequency By SPD
Resulting Frequency 400 Mhz

Under "Frequency / Voltage Control"
CPU Ratio Control Normal
CPU Voltage Control Normal

Modified Bios Settings 1
------------------------------

Under "Advance Chipset Features"
FSB Frequency 166 MHZ

Resulting Frequency 400 Mhz

Under "Frequency / Voltage Control"

CPU Voltage Control Normal

Modified Bios Settings 2
------------------------------

Under "Advance Chipset Features"
FSB Frequency 166 MHZ
Memory Frequency Auto
Resulting Frequency Auto

Under "Frequency / Voltage Control"
CPU Ratio Control Normal
CPU Voltage Control Normal

Modified Bios Settings 3
------------------------------

Under "Advance Chipset Features"
FSB Frequency 166 MHZ

Resulting Frequency Auto

Under "Frequency / Voltage Control"
CPU Ratio Control 13x
CPU Voltage Control Normal

So it looks like its running a FSB of 100 rather than 166. Have you tried setting FSB to the other available values (100, 133 & 200) - to see if it has any effect? (eg, mobo may have fault which is mixing them up).

Is this the onlu cpu you've tried in this mobo? (have you another you could try - mobo may need returning)
