while customer trying to pay by gift card, the foh terminal will pop up error message, No response, check customer+mx interface"

Aloha 6.5, all other functions, BOH aloha GC interface running. can run gift card report at BOH.

Was working well, then suddenly next day stop working like this.

Thanks

Call Radiant aloha ecards - the number is 1-800-79 ALOHA
option 2 then option 1. They are the only ones that can deal with gift card problems.

Cheers,
Coorsman

Coorsman, my system is not ecard. just the add on gift card, any idea?
thanks, Sarha

Close the GC interface on the BOH and reboot the BOH computer. The interface should autostart after restart.

I don't remember the setting but on the BOH interface you can set it to show all communication on screen. It's really the only option on the interface so it will be easy to find. This is on the interface, not the BOH GC manager. Set that and run a querry or card from the FOH and see if you can see the activity.

posrescue, I can not find the option to show all communications,

When I try to run a query from FOH, it poped up the interface is not start, while the interface runs at BOH.

Help! it drive me crazy!

Maybe the messages location in the GC interface got changed?

Make sure the folder aloha\delivery\messages exists. If so make sure the interface is looking to that folder for messages (requests sent from the FOH.

-Open the GC interface from the taskbar. (The interface, not GC Manager)
-Click on File then Setup
-Select the File Location tab
-In the “Set File Exchange Location” frame, the drive on which Aloha POS software is installed should show up in the drop down list.
-In the folder selection area below the drop down list, make sure the aloha\delivery\messages is selected

If not I cannot assure you that changing this will fix the problem as the system may have been installed or configured differently. That is the location that should be used for Gift Certificate Manager by default.

When you run transaction from a gift certificate tender in the FOH a message is placed in the messages folder on the fileserver. If Gift Certificate Manager does not pick up the message the FOH will give an error stating the interface is not running.

aha, posrescue, I figured it out before see your post. Yeh, u r right, somehow the location changed. I compared my system to a back up and found the difference. Binggo!

Thanks a lot, still
