Has anyone seen this before? Our PDC rebooted itself and upon reboot, all users except administrator and guest were gone(we don't have a functioning BDC, I know, very bad). The admin password was blank so we just recreated all the users. Once this had been done, the same crash occured wiping out all users except admin, guest and the account that was currently logged into the server. This time the admin password was not blank ad we had to do some packet sniffing to determine it. It turned out to be AAAAA...(14 of them). Anyways, recreated all the accounts again and again lost them, before we were finished building the BDC.

What I don't get is that just the users are missing, all of the registered computers are still in Server Manager. There are no odd Event Viewer messages. We have the latest virus definitions in our AV software(Norton)

I am hoping someone has seen this before and give me an idea as to what the heck is going on.

Thanks

I think you have a corrupted SAM
DO you have an older repair disk ?
If so, boot with the NT server installation disks, choose 'repair existing NT installation' and restore your SAM. Peter Van Eeckhoutte
