Hello,
I am trying to develop a personal webpage, and I know a little bit and trying to make it look nice is tough
I made a java menu using tables although I can't get it to align right. Maybe someone could look at what I have and tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks.
You can see how I want it on this page:
and you can see when I start typing text etc on this page:
it has spaces between the menu buttons
what am I doing wrong? how can I fix this? thanks.

I'll bet it's because you have all of the <TR> heights implicitly specified. The table cell you have that contains the text is probably getting taller than the table containing the nav stuff, so it gives them room to stretch. I'd try putting an empty row that can stretch below it to give it a pad. (Empty with a non-breaking space or something)

I'd turn on the table borders and take a look... that way tou can see what's happening a little better.

A personal observation though: it's really hard on the eyes to have look up below your title to see the description of the links as your mouse pointer moves over them, especially as you get further down the list... it's too much back-and-forth. It makes it a lot of work from a useabilty standpoint. Just my .02$ (take it for what it's worth, heheh)
