Hi,
I installed SMS Server 2.0 on an old workstation temporarily while I waited for a new server (6 months later) without problems and everything worked fine. When the new server arrived I turned off the old and threw it away and installed the the new server with SMS. When i accessed the sms admin console I could see all my clients but it said the client software was not installed. I could still remote control and do everything I could before on the clients but the all client queries were blank. After about 3-4 weeks I could not connect to the clients and when I access the sms admin console the site server it connects to is the old server even tho it has been turned off. I am considering removing the client software off all workstations and re-installing the site server. If it helps - the old server and the new server are named completely different but the site number is still the same i.e 123. I have no secondary sites.
Please help, it will be very time consuming to re-install and delete clients (around 1000 pc's
Thanks
Ian
