I have a cics plus with 2 port Flash. I have reset the Flash but I can't gain access to admin AA using f983!

Any Ideas?

Thanks to all in advance

Oooh. Ugly.
Here's some ideas that one or severally should work.

1. Verify in Maint that you can 'see' the flash ports
2. Shut down the Flash
3. Do XFTEST + installer's PWD
4. Test and clear all codes
5. restart the flash
6. do another xftest to verify new code aquisition by ksu
also do 9*1 to see same codes
7. try F983 again... try F981* 120000

I have had to repeat the above procedures several times to get into the flash. As soon as you do get into Mbx 12 press 1 and completely reset the Flash.

Hope you get through the problem.

... oops...
That's F**XFTEST....
Also press REINSTALL after pressing '1' above to reset the Flash.

Whoa! If when you are going F983 are you doing it from at least a 7310 or 7324 phone? If you try to do it from a 7208 is will come back and say 'not allowed'.

I think ARR is giving instructions on what to do if it comes back with INACTIVE Feature.

Might want to try the simplest resolution first.

Are you sure that this is a full blown Flash. It may be a Flash Lite. Hope I'm wrong. darnold@americaii.com

Whether it is a Flash or Flash Lite, he would still be able to access F983, if only to build mailboxes.

Hi!

Thanks for the quick respose!

I am using a 7310 Phone.... 9** features are there.

With F983 I can get to mail boxes and set them up. when I go to the AA button "Not Allowed" is the still response.

Do I need to set up a MB for the AA first?

No, redhawkfla is right. This sounds like a Flash Lite. Meaning that the software in this voicemail doesn't have an Auto Attendant available to program.

On the PCMCIA card, the little software flash card, tell us everything that is says on there. Don't pull it out while the system is on..... We're looking for the word Lite anywhere on it.

Is this a NEW install?

PCMCIA Card Info:

Nortel Networks - Norstar Flash
NNTM040EDKRX 1999/12/02
NT5B78EG 0002 REL 02
ENG/SPN/FLASH VML V2.0.10 FC
MADE IN CANADA 2001/06

This is used equipment that I am installing myself.

I reset VM because I couldn't figure out how to erase previous owners AA info.

They did have the AA working though.

It sounds like a flash lite - if so the greetings are in the CICS what you will need to do is use Feature 831 832 and 833 833 is where the greetings are. Good luck this can be very tricky.

Good Luck

Hi guys!

The messages are on the cics. (Thanks Norstar Girl!)

Is there any documentation on this?

Could my Flash had already been upgraded to flash 2 and I demoted it back to flash light when I reset it?

It has a basic ccr tree F*833 gets me there. Can this be programed?

Any help is definately appreciated.

Thank you, I have it working now!

All of your input has been very helpful!

I understand that the flash can be upgraded to flash2 by buying key codes. Does any one know how much that costs or where I can purchase the upgrade?

Thanks again!

When you find a vendor you will be looking for NTAB4015 to make it a Flash Voice Mail basic. Good luck.
