I have an IBM UltraStar SCSI Hard drive...and I am trying to install that drive as a primary slave ... I understand there are some jumper settings that I have to change...but what are they?!..where should the jumper cables go on the pins? Please help...

Be sure you actually have a SCSI controller - SCSI doesn't use master and slave, just Device numbers or LUN (logical unit numbers). The controller is normally 7, the boot drive is normally 0. The SCSI Bios will have an option to determine whether it will be a boot source or not. Is your boot drive currently IDE or SCSI??

If you already have the controller and a boot SCSI ID'd as 0, the new drive should be set for 1 and plugged in the middle with the terminator off.

Try a google search for your drive ID and additional term specifications and you probably will find a site with drawings of where the setting pins are located.
