Hello,

I'm using a machine which is running Win2000 and has SQL Server 2000 installed. Everything was working fine until I added a password for the Administrator account; now when I reboot the computer the SQL Server service fails to start. My knowledge of SQL Server administration is pretty limited but I've poked around and can't seem to solve the problem. In the registered SQL Server Properties, 'Use Windows Authentication' is selected and I'd like not to have to change that. Can anyone tell me what I have to do? Thanks in advance!

Try changing to mixed mode first and then restart...wait a minute: if the service can't start then you cant change anything.

Try this, go in Services and check MSSQLSERVER and SQLSERVERAGENT services. Right click the service and select the Log on tab. Set it up accordingly.

Note: be cautious as I am not to sure this will solve your problem. Maybe someone else can correct me...

go to control panel and then go to administrative tool and look in to services and see if the login and password is same as you have changed
