Hi,

I'm trying to connect ms project pro 2003 to ms project server 2003 but receive the error "access is denied" whenever I do so. I also try to access the project server through the web browser. I am prompted to enter a windows user account and password and that returns the same error. I have tried the project administrator account as well with no luck. I am able to login from the server console using project accounts but that's it. Do I need to install a client access license?

So it seems I have three areas with problems.
1) I can't login using web access and a project account unless I login from the server console.
2) I can't login using web access from a workstation with a windows accoun. I get a pop up box for a username and password but that fails.
2) I can't login using ms project pro to connect to ms project server using a project or windows account.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

We recently saw similar symptoms and discovered that the HD that the Project Server Database was stored on was full. Corrected that and we could access the database from all places. Another time we saw this we noticed that the SQL server where project database was stored randomly disconnected from the network. Event viewer on SQL server had netlogon errors, very strange! So we moved the project database to a more reliable server. Hope this helps.
