Hi there:

I’m working on Access 2000 front-End, SQL Server 2000 backend DataBase.

When I enter the new order through the Access bounding form. It is working fine. New record can be inserted in table. But when I tracing the order that I just enter in and edit it , the Msg show me “Write conflict. This records has been changed by another user since you started editing it.” Then I can’t save my change.

Right now no one using this database, only mine. So can anyone tell me where I’m wrong?

Any idea will be welcome.
Thx so much

You have locked the same record for updating twice.

You possibly are working with a subform which contains an already locked record.

You have a cloned recordset and your locked record is pointed to on both record sets.

It takes time to find this problem, but the reason is that you are locking the same record at least twice.
