I have a MCI - P65-SAT MB with Celeron 1Ghz and 1 GB PC133 RAM.
It does not work well with my 160 GB WD ... constant freezing.

Rather than replace everything is there a P3 MB out there that supports large HD ( 160 GB or more )

There are no BIOS upgrades for the MCI board that address this.

OR do I have to upgrade to a P4 system with DDR RAM

Thanks

John

have you tried an add-on IDE controller? usually the BIOS in those add-on controllers work with the larger drives

go to any computer shop and they should have a card

does your current system bios actually detect the full 160GB (or 153 or whatever)? Because if it does, likely problem is elsewhere. Constant freezing - can you expand - is not usually a symptom of mobo having problems full size of drive. More likely bad hardware or drivers.
