With Exchange 5.5 is it possible to configure the Internet Mail Connector to default to HELO (i.e. Disable outgoing ESMTP) when sending to one specific domain?
On suppliers email server refuses the connection when our Exchange server sends an EHLO command (Returns 421 Syntax Error - Command Line too long), but works fine with HELO. However the only way I have found to tell Exchange 5.5 to use SMTP instead of ESMTP is by adding a registry setting - This however effects all outgoing mail.
Also, is this really a problem? Are there any major disadvantages that end users will notice to using SMTP instead of ESMTP?
