Hello,
we have constucted a dll that performs some query updates in an access table on windows 2000 server. that all works fine, good results and stuff
now the major problem is that the performance is very poor.
on a windows xp machine it runs in about 12 seconds but on windows 2000 server it takes about 50(!) while that computer is fatter (p3 1ghz, ide hd though).
i dont think the cpu is the problem cos that doesnt usually exceed more then 30% or so
but the hd performs very slow on the queries that are repeated about 100 times in vb compiled dll.. (?)
on the winxp machine (same hd) it goes like lightning..
anyone has an explanation for this? something with windows 2000 disc management? i dont have a clue also the disc is formatted in ntfs..
thanx in advance, nemesis
