Hello, new to site and I am attempting to bring an old norstar mod 8x24 back to life.

The issues that I am trying to solve are this is a DR5 with software data cartridge nt5b24ch-93 rel-01 A.
I am under the impression that I need to upgrade to a newer release between nt5b24ch rls 04 e/f to nt5b24dh rls 04 e/s so that I can use a star talk flash VM system?

And what would the star talk systems compatibility be with this unit, IE nt5b06eb-93 rel 02a/nt5b78ec 0002 rel 02/

Thanks, I seen the other compatability sheet but that only showed the software # and release not the version.

Now to start punching cable PRs down so I can see what version I have.

Well like so many others the pass word has been changed from **config to who knows what.
Attempted to do the default trick with the expansion card, the clock went back to jan 01, but when I attempted to try again just got password-retry.

So will attempt the debug solution, if that does not work, the heck with it time to upgrade to dr5.1 so I can use a startalk flash VM.

A fairly complete discussion of your various resetting / defaulting options for a 824. Maybe try the 100 ohm resistor and the memory capacitor ?

OOPS, you know the whole **config thing, forgot to do the 2nd config to get in LOL

(last switch I worked on was a stepper and that was 1983, just learning as I go)
