Hello,
I've got a customer with an MICS with 4.1 XC software. They have a T1 with PRI. It has 2 combo cards, eight station mods on it. NAM not sure how many channels. One ASM. It is running out of station ports. The last two fiber ports on the combo card are for Companion and they don't want that. My question is, how can I add another MICS to the existing one and have them networked at the same site to expand the system? If it is possible? Thanks for the help.
Dmac,

Dmac,

MICS 6.0 supports multiple MICS on a MCDN network. Thats all I know of that. We tried it in our lab at work, but i was not the one to program it, but i know it works.

NamLy555,
If we upgrade them to 6.0 software will the system have to reprogrammed? Or is it as simple as just powering down putting in the new card and powering back up? Thanks.
Dmac,

Dmac,
Pwr down and put new card in. That simple. There was a recent and excellent post on your question. Originated by jsad.

Cheers

Hello,
This MICS has a second Combo card and it has to fiber slots open at the top and are for Companion stuff. If the software is upgraded to 6.0 will it change this so that they can use them for a couple more station mods?
Thanks for the help.
Dmac.

Not yet. It is my understanding that they are still reserved. Maybe they will be used for the new VOIP stuff that will be out soon. Don't quote me on that. Too soon to tell.
