hello, ive been reading about veritas but unfortunately.. can't understand what basically veritas do.. Theres a couple of package of veritas that you can buy.. but primarily.. veritas itself is an application that do what? please help me out regarding this. Is it also capable of running on LAN?? , to manage lan backup?

There are many Veritas products. Backup Exec is a back up program. Depending on option, it will back up servers(Windows, Unix, Netware), workstations(Windows, DOS, Unix), and make disaster recovery back ups. Originally made by a company name Arcadia, it was bought by Seagate (the hard drive maker), and then bought by Veritas.
