Hello IE experts -

I have IE 5.5 Service Pack 2 with 128-bit cipherstrength.
On Windows 2000

I frequently get run-time errors while browsing various sites....

"A runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to debug.
Error : Expected ')'

other errors I get are:
"Error: Parent.jpg is null or not an object"
"Error: Document.About.jpg is null or not an object"

What do I need to do?

Thanks, John

... Just now did a search on 'Runtime error' and found
another post related to my problem.

In that post, 'Reboot' Jim (who knows his stuff) suggested
Disabling script debugging.

I did that. Will post again if that does not solve the problem.

Many sites are poorly designed regarding java script. If only a few sites are giving you this problem, you can alway uncheck the 'display notification about every script error, and check the ' turn off script debugging ' in Tools->Internet Options->Advanced. Scroll down to the Browsing section.

Thanks pierrebrown,

I followed your suggestions. Problem solved. John
