Hello,
I have a customer that we just upgraded their system from a CICS to a MICS with 6.0 software. They have a Flash VM with 2.0 software. When a call comes in the General Delivery box picks up the call not the AA. We installed a T1 with DID's the main number is assigned to the Reception ext. The target line is 157. I may have the answer to my problem but like to confirm this. I didn't assign that target line in VM programming to answer that target line. Also would I have to input 157 for all the other lines? They have 12 off the T1 or twelve channels.
Thanks,
Dmac,

You would not normally assign the auto attendant to answer target lines as it would answer with the main greeting. Instead you would call forward/no answer each DN with a target line to the voicemail DN so that it will answer with each individual's personal mailbox greeting. The prime set for each target line should be set to the DN on which each target line rings.

exsmogger,
I need the AA to pickup when the main number for the business is called. It works fine if each individual DID is called and goes to each mailbox. If the main number is called it goes straight to the general delivery mailbox instead of playing greeting one.Do I need to assign target line 157 in the VM programming to get the proper greeting to play. I assigned lines 001 thru 012 off the T1 to answer. The reception extension 201 has target line 157 assigned to it.
Thanks,
Dmac,

DN 201 has the main number assigned to appear & ring, and also has call forward/no answer or call forward/busy set to go to the voicemail DN. The call forward/no answer rings must be set higher than the answer rings set in the auto attendant, and call forward/busy must be set to N. Otherwise all ringing calls to 201 will be sent to its mailbox instead of the main greeting. Also check that DND on busy is set to N.

exsmogger,
It is set to ring only with 6 appearances on ext.201.This may not make any difference but thought you may need to know. Their original setup and how it is still setup is for the AA answer after 5 rings.I'll have to check the other settings.
Thanks for the help.
Dmac,

Ring only makes no difference. If a call rings at an extension it will invoke any forwarding you have set up. I would be sure that your forwarding rings are less than 5 which is why calls are going to the general mailbox. The calls never ring enough times to get to the auto attendant.

Yes,assign 157 to answer in the NVM.
