Hello, Experts.

Just thought I would throw this out here and see if anyone has run across this.

We have Gentran Server 5.3 running on Solaris 8. We are interfacing with SAP 4.5 running on a separate box. We are using NFS with RFC triggering.

Just about once a week we experience the "deliveridoc" process hang while sending status messages back to SAP via the sapstat script. In order for processing to continue, the hanging deliveridoc process must be manually killed.

The error we get once the process is killed is "Resource temporarily unavailable" for the copy to the NFS mounted directory.

I know this is rather vague, but any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have been banging my head on this one for awhile.

Thanks!

Why aren't you using ALE to communicate with SAP. It should be part of the PCM with 5.3.
My experience is that NFS mounts are "flaky".
ALE is the preferred method.

Hope this helps.

MREDIGUY,

Thanks for the reply. I don't know why we are using the NFS solution for this. I guess just because that is how it has always been done here.

Do you have any experience with ALE. I am looking into this as we speak. Do you have any insight on the logistics of incorporating the ALE solution? I don't fully understand the concept, yet. Any nuances I should know about?

As usual, any additional help is greatly appreciated.
