Hi
Is this forum still actively used? does not seem to have had anything posted for some time.

I use it and check back every week or so to see if there is anything I can answer.

**One day, I will find a question that no one else has answered........and will also know the answer to it ! **

Ah good, a uk based expert!!! just doing my training on Realitis at the moment.
Cheers, poss speak in future.

I'm no expert. My training lasted oh......2 hours. The hardware is supported under contract I just do the changes on site. There are some good commands around if you look for them.

Top tip would be to sit your switch on your business network - I didn't realise until recently that it had a network card in so last time it has a PM visit the guy set it up for me - I access it via hyperterminal from my desktop now.

unfortunatley im in the UK & have the displeasure of working on these beasts if you need help i may be available

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

Hi There Everyone! Me too, have been working on these beasts for sometime now! Ex-Siemens/GPT/GEC

Not sure if I am responding correctly.
Thank you speckledhen for your response.
We have a very unusual set up here. Our lines go out over an E1, then are routed by microwave to an MSC, the MSC is also a Siemens PBX, from there, local calls then go mostly to a SIM Box, essentially, a cell phone to cell phone, to office link, unless it is internationally, then, tragically, over a satellite link, at least for now.
You ask if I am in the UK or somewhere else, I am definitely somewhere else! I am in Kabul, Afghanistan. The telecom structure is in its infancy, I have recommended this Call Center be moved to an Avaya Definity Carrier, as that is what the other sites are moving to. Any advice is welcome!

pbx1960 - you're not the siemens helpdesk are you? Explains why we have so many problems escalating faults to them and never get called back.

When I was born I was so suprised I didn't talk for 18 months

Yes perhaps seimens have out-sourced to kabul, the Beeston site did look empty last time I was there

i had the pleasure of installing exchanges in Afghanistan, where abouts are you????

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

I am in UK.
If you installed exchanges in Afghanistan you may have installed the one that pbx1960 has a problem with on the other thread, you maybe able to help out.

i maybe able to offer some assistance but cant work out what the question is or the problem

Hi
Have a look at another recent thread on this forum dated 27th July from pbx1960 about calls not releasing.
seems that incoming calls are not releasing when caller disconnects calls, gota be a call release timer somewhere that can be changed.

Hi Phones1,
I am mainly working in Kabul. It has gone from relatively peaceful to very dangerous, and I don't mean just the PBXes!

Your telling me & job a came up in basra was ment to be there 6 weeks back within 2, still i wouldnt mind going back to Kabul
