Hello all,
I'm very new to web designing, and thus, need a little help. I'm need a font that is fixed size (I'm not sure if that is the correct wording, so I mean every letter takes up the same amount of space) that is 'web safe'. I was told to stay away from serif fonts because they're hard to read, but sans serif is OK. Basically, I'm confused.
What are generally considered the 'web safe' fonts and which of these are fixed size? And are there any good sites in this area?

Thanks a bunch!!
Earme

"Web Safe" fonts are all the standard fonts found in your c:\windows\fonts folder after a fresh install. If you've downloaded IE5.5 or something that uses other fonts, they'll also show up in that folder.
Putting them between <pre> tags is a good idea. Cheers,

I must admit that I'm a fan of verdana Mise Le Meas,

Remember one thing, its not the font that changes size sometimes, its the spacing of the sentence and words.

A little gift to you earme (and all those having font size/choice dilemnas)
Here is a list of the &quot;safe web fonts&quot;, in pixels, points, and relative sizes. You'll be able to pick what you like and see how it's going to look online.
I hope it helps
