Hello all,

I made a small program something like 6 months before, and now i have some modifications in the program. I have changed the database file to store more information(It is n mdb file-changes include addition of many files embeded in the database as OLE Objects).Since i dont want the user to do another installation, i would like to patch the existing app, including the mdb and the exe. Since i have heard a lot about exe patches, and updates, i would like to do something like that.

Please giude me through

Thanks in advance.. Thanks,
Ebee Sam

If the orginal install put everything on the machine it needs - dll's and whatnot then all the user needs to do is copy the new executable over the old one.

If the old database was just being read by the program- you could do the same. Just copy the new .mdb file over the old one.

If the old database file has unique data in it that you do not want to lose- then someone will have to export that data into the new file before it is brought over- or modify the old database schema to match the new and import the new data.
