Hi,

I am creating a report which has set of sub reports. As there is no subreport concep in oracle reports I am using repeating frames to work with. I am running into some problems with displaying the data on one frame.

ex. I want to display the main record first and all the child records realted to the main under it.

date worknumber total
compid startdate enddate person.

Instead the report is displaying one main and then one child and it is repeating for all the records like this.

Any help onthis is very much appreciated.

Thanks.

couldn't understand ur problem , neither i'm an expert but as for i can get from ur query.

u might hav placed both the main and the child into a single repeating frame.

try creating the child group into the data model and put it into a seperate reapeating frame which lies into the main reapeating frame.

just a hit.

Yes, that seems to be the problem.
The structure described is one of the standard report types called 'Group Left" in the report wizard. You need two graoups for it, and two repeating frames for these groups, one insede another. If you don't have the group to source the outer (master) frame, you may just drag the field definig outer group above the detail group in the data model.
